Geothermal heat pumps are much more efficient than traditional heating and cooling systems. The York® Affinity™ YAWS is rated at 17.5 EER for cooling and 3.1 COP for heating and can reduce water heating costs by as much as 60% per year. Efficiency translates into savings.
Safe
No combustion or flames are used to operate a geothermal heat pump, making it a safe choice for your home and family. Our systems merely move heat to and from the ground rather than by burning natural gas, propane, or oil.

Hot Water Assist
Larger Affinity™ YAWS units can include a hot water assist option to provide supplemental heating of domestic hot water while simultaneously providing space heating.
Cabinet
The Affinity™ YAWS cabinet is built for durability and long-lasting beauty. The Affinity™ YAWS’s ability to connect piping at either the front or back of the unit makes installation and service easy for the contractor. Control panels can also be placed at either end for convenient operation.
Compressors
A high efficiency scroll compressor is used to provide years of reliable, efficient operation. Compressors are double-isolation mounted and utilize compressor blankets for ultra quiet operation.
IntelliStart
Lengthen the lifetime of your system and compressor with the optional IntelliStart soft starter. This accessory decreases start-up amperage by up to 70% and helps eliminate light flicker.
Insulated Coaxial Heat Exchanger
We use heat exchangers at the beginning and end of the first sentence. Change it to: Affinity™ YAWS heat exchangers are coated with foam insulation for increased efficiency and durability .
R-410A
All York® geothermal units utilize R-410A refrigerant, which is friendly to the environment.
